According to a report in Wired.com, security researcher Christopher Soghoian is under fire for creating Northwest Airline Boarding Pass Generator. The site (seems to be shut down now) allows anyone to create a facsimile of NorthWest Airline with any name they choose.
Soghoian claims that his motive was to drive home the seriousness of the security loophole and make US Congress aware of it. But now a member of the House Homeland Security committee want him arrested. It seems this security loophole is not a new one; it has been mentioned here, here and here. But still no action was taken.
Why shot the messanger? Solve the security loophole instead. Seems like politicians are the same everywhere - inactive.
