Microsoft's Janakiram gave an interesting demo on IM Bots to showcase interactivity of Live Messenger chat. On the Filmy Bot he was throwing interesting questions on Mallika Sherawat evoking laughter among the gathering. He also added with a smile that his knowledge of Bollywood is limited. But given the fact that he picked the hottest babe in Bollywood, it seems he underestimates himself or is too modest!
Uzanto's Vishnu gave a presentation on JRuby. He mentioned that he was to able develop Slideshare functionalities using JRuby in 3 hours .......boy that's productivity !
Jay Pullar's (CEO, Pramati) session was the most debated one. He was trying to highlight some of the problems in web applications today - our personal data gets scattered in multiple web applications (like flickr, blogs, mails), problem in using these application when offline and not having fine grained control in sharing data. He has detailed these problems in one of his blogs. These are the problems that Pramati's next product will try to solve ...... he hinted that the product is expected in early 2007. Something in line of Adobe Apallo ?
In the middle we also had a small rush ....... everyone vying to get hold of a T-Shirts out of the limited stock ! I missed last couple of session, had to rush to the airport to catch my flight to Bangalore.
Ramesh and krishnendu did a great job in managing the whole show and making things happen.
Some pictures are available here and here.
